Recalibrate Church
Our History
- In the year 1937 God gave Annie Spiegel a burden for the City of Stockbridge.
- She contacted John and Rev Jim Evans, who had a tent which they agreed to bring to Stockbridge. However, they were unable to get a permit, so open air services were held in the yard of Liberty Hill Baptist Church.
- Later, they brought the tent one mile south of Stockbridge on Bob Elliott’s property.
- The tent meeting began June 1937 and continued for sixteen weeks.
- The fifteenth of August 1937, the church was established on a donated one-acre plot.
- Plans to build a church begin and on the last Sunday of October 1937 the new church was completed. First Pentecostal Holiness Church.

*Every church, just like every individual, family, and organization has themes of calling and themes of conflict. Our themes of calling must prevail over the themes of conflict! *
Our Beliefs
**We are an Assemblies of God church guided by 16 fundamental truths. A full list can be found at https://ag.org/Beliefs/Statement-of-Fundamental-Truths.
Essential Beliefs for Every Follower of Christ:
The Bible is the Word of God.
God's Word is truth. It is our manual for living & the basis of everything we teach. Our first question when faced with a decision is, "What does the Bible say?" (2 Timothy 3:16)
Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
Jesus lived a sinless life and paid for our sin by dying on the cross. He rose from the dead and is the mediator between God and us. (John 14:6).
You must be Born Again.
Salvation comes only through God's grace, and must be received personally by repentance and faith. Only believers will enjoy eternal fellowship with God. (2 Cor 5:17)
The Holy Spirit is an essential part of the believer's life.
The Holy Spirit provides us comfort, guidance, power, good character, and spiritual gifts. (John 14:16-26, Acts 9:31, John 16:5-13, Acts 1:8, Galatians 5:22-23, 1 Corinthians 12:4-11).

Giving
“A tithe of everything… belongs to the Lord; it is holy to the Lord.” Lev 27:30
- At Stockbridge Assembly we practice tithing for the support of Christ’s Body, the church, as God commands.
- We recognize that giving 10% of our income is the Biblical standard of giving.
- The giving of tithes and offerings is worship to Jesus Christ and
- is an expression of the relationship between the individual giver and the Lord.
- Funds are not “income only,” they are worship, and must not be considered as a business transaction, but as an expression of gratitude toward God.
Overseer Board
- The GA District of the Assemblies of God serves as an overseer board.
Our Mission
Stockbridge Assembly exists to lead others to life, through loving, connecting and serving. We desire to reach people with the life-giving message of Jesus Christ that they might experience a life of purpose and fulfillment that God always intended for them.
Jesus replied, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself. The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.”
Matthew 22:37-40
We do this through:
Sunday Services
We come together to Celebrate
“I was glad when they said to me, let us go into the house of the Lord.’” Psalm 122:1
Col 3:16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
Preparation
Eph 4:11-12 Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. 12Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ.
Romans 10:13-14 For “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.”14But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?
