Two Kings. Two Kingdoms. One Choice.
Palm Sunday is often seen as a joyful parade—Jesus riding into Jerusalem, crowds cheering, palm branches waving, and shouts of “Hosanna!” echoing through the city streets. But if you zoom out just a little, you’ll notice something remarkable happening beneath the celebration.
There weren’t just palms and praises on that day. There were also two parades. Two processions. Two kingdoms.
From the west, the Roman governor Pontius Pilate rode into town with military horses, armed guards, and the weight of empire behind him. His entrance was all about power, intimidation, and control. Rome was making a statement: “We’re in charge. Don’t get any ideas.”
From the east, Jesus entered on a donkey—no army, no sword, no political muscle. Just a humble King, fulfilling prophecy, offering peace and salvation to a world addicted to power.
Two kings. Two very different kingdoms.
And here’s the kicker: both still ride into our lives today.
One promises success, status, and control—at the cost of your soul.
The other offers peace, purpose, and eternal life—through surrender.
The crowd had to choose who to follow. And so do we.
Jesus doesn’t just ride into cities. He rides into hearts.
He still comes in peace.
He still invites us to lay down our cloaks and follow.
So this Palm Sunday, ask yourself:
👉 Which kingdom are you living for?
👉 Which King are you following?
Because the one you follow determines the life you live—and the future you walk into.
